Brandin Echols got Tom Brady's first and last autographed interception
Former Kentucky cornerback Brandin Echols intercepted Tom Brady last Sunday when Echols’ four-win New York Jets hosted Tom Brady’s third-place Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The INT was Echols’ second this season; two weeks ago, the rookie had a pick-6 and three pass breakups against the Dolphins.
After picking off the G.O.A.T. this past Sunday, Echols did the unthinkable. He tracked down Brady during the postgame handshakes and asked Brady to sign the ball—the same ball Brady threw to the other team while trailing, the ball that set up a Jets score to further the Jets’ first-half lead. (Spoiler: Tom came back to win in the fourth quarter.)

Is Echols crazy?
Surprisingly, Brady obliged.
Later on, Brady said never again.
Speaking on his new podcast, Brady said, “I don’t necessarily like signing mistakes, let me just say that. So that’s the last time I’m going to do that. I know it’s the season of giving. I don’t plan on giving any more gifts to people. It’s much better to receive than give from my standpoint as a quarterback.”
Brady noted it was the first time anyone asked him to sign one of his own interceptions. That makes Echols’ ball a 1-of-1 souvenir.
“What a nice guy, young player,” Brady said of Echols. “It was kind of flattering.
