Central Florida has not been a frequently visited area for Kentucky football. That appears to be changing.

In the class of 2023, Kentucky signed Jeremiah Anglin out of Lake Wales (Fla) High as the staff got into Polk County. Now the Wildcats are making a move into Metro Orlando. The program hosted two big recruits over the weekend.

Brandon Jacob returns to Lexington

Brandon Jacob (6-2, 170) is a top-200 safety recruit in the class of 2024. The Orlando (Fla.) Evans junior is a wanted player.

Jacob has visited Florida State three times and Mike Norvell’s program currently appears to be the team to beat in this recruitment. However, Chris Collins and Frank Buffano are making a move for Kentucky.

After visiting Kentucky last summer for a camp, Jacob returned to Lexington over the weekend for another unofficial visit. Collins, Buffano, and Mike Stoops all appear to be working on this recruitment for the Wildcats. The program is attempting to make a move on a blue-chip safety who was just one of the top performers at the Under Armour Orlando Camp last week.

Kentucky is chasing two-way prospect Cai Bates

On the trip with Brandon Jacob, Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater wide receiver Cai Bates (6-2, 165) also made the trek to Lexington over the weekend.

However, his future might be on defense. At the Under Armour Orlando Camp, Bates worked out at cornerback and that appears to be what Kentucky is recruiting the high three-star recruit to play at the next level. Bates has the size and length that UK prefers at corner.

Bates has received verbal scholarship offers from Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Ohio State, and Tennessee over the last two weeks as the recruitment for the Central Florida prospect begins to heat up.

Kentucky is making a move in Metro Orlando and seems to be in a good position for two intriguing secondary prospects.
