After being declared an alternate in next week's NBA Draft Combine, Kentucky freshman
Isaiah Briscoe hasn't slowed down a bit. The 6-foot-3, 202 pound former McDonald's All-American has planned several workouts with NBA teams.
Today, Briscoe is working out for the Los Angeles Clippers along with San Diego State big man Malik Pope. On May 16, Briscoe will hit the court with the Lakers for a workout a day after the May 11-15 combine. The guard recently worked out with the San Antonio Spurs.
According to Briscoe's father, George Briscoe, the guard has yet to hire an agent and has at least seven more workouts planned with teams. Briscoe's dad said his son needs to get his confidence on the court back.
"You don't go to (the BallIsLife.com All-America Game) and win the 3-point contest, you don't go to the (Nike Elite Youth Basketball League) and win the championship at the foul line with two seconds to go-you don't do all that an then just lose it," Briscoe's father, George, told the Courier Journal recently. "We'll get it back."
Briscoe is currently ranked 71st by ESPN and 82nd by Draft Express. As a freshman for UK, he started 33 games, , averaging 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists as part of a three-guard lineup that included projected first-round picks
Jamal Murray and
Tyler Ulis.
Briscoe has until May 25 to decide if he will return to UK as a sophomore.
