The Georgia state high school football championships kicked off today at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and taking in the sights are two very important Kentucky Wildcats. On3’s Chad Simmons captured this picture of Brock Vandagriff, the Georgia transfer quarterback who committed to Kentucky last week, and Liam Coen, his new offensive coordinator. Prince Avenue, Vandagriff’s high school team which is also coached by his father Greg, is currently playing Swainsboro in the Class A Championship.

Prince Avenue is hoping to win its third title in four years. Two of those rings came with Brock at quarterback, in 2020 and 2021. Prior to getting his team ready for the game, Greg Vandagriff spoke to KSR+’s Jacob Polacheck about his son and what he’ll be bringing to Lexington.

“He runs really well and he’s got a strong arm,” Vandagriff said. “The number one factor is probably his accuracy. It’s hard to describe it. Some people don’t believe it. His ability to put the ball where he wants it is uncanny. Again, I watched it many times, going, ‘Holy cow, how did he do that?’ Hopefully, we will see it over the next year or two.”

Jacob also spoke to Brock, an interview you’ll see in just a few hours here on KSR. Kentucky’s new quarterback talked a lot about his relationship with Liam Coen, which is only getting stronger with encounters like this. Hopefully, that’s not the last time they’ll be in Mercedes Benz Stadium together.

What do you think they were talking about? Passing routes? where to find the best wings in Atlanta? What it’s like to have red hair?
