Brock Vandagriff proposing to his girlfriend with an antler is the best thing you'll see today

We haven’t heard much from Brock Vandagriff since he retired from football earlier this year, but today, we got a reminder that the former Kentucky quarterback is enjoying his new life to the fullest. Vandagriff just announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Layton on social media, and the pictures must be seen to be believed.
Vandagriff, an avid hunter and fisherman, put all outdoorsmen on notice with his proposal. Instead of surprising his girlfriend with a ring box, Vandagriff got down on one knee and handed her an antler with “Will you marry me?” painted on it. Obviously, she said yes, and the happy couple took some photos together, a few on his fishing boat.
“What a great weekend,” Vandagriff wrote in the caption. “The catch of a lifetime for sure! Thankful for friends and family for helping us celebrate such a special day. I love you Layton! Thank you Lord. Let’s do it!! 💙💙”

Vandagriff dealt with injuries throughout this season at Kentucky, the worst coming off a brutal hit during the Cats’ loss at Tennessee. The Georgia transfer finished the season with 125 completions for 1,593 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. His best performance was in Kentucky’s win at Ole Miss, where he completed 64.3% of his passes for 243 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Cats to the upset of the top-ten Rebels. After the season, he decided to hang it up despite Mark Stoops wanting him to return for another season.

“I wanted to be able to spend more time with my family and things of that sort,” Vandagriff told the Athens Banner-Herald of his decision. “It wasn’t like I was fired up to go in there every day. As a quarterback that’s kind of what you need. Your team relies on you and I didn’t feel like I was able to be at my best every day because of the whole situation.”
Vandagriff is back in his home state of Georgia working as a medical sales rep for Zimmer Biomet, and, when the work day is over, enjoying the great outdoors. Now, he’ll need to carve out some time for wedding planning. Congrats to the happy couple! If the proposal pictures are any indication, I can’t wait to see what the wedding is like.
