Kenny Brooks says Kentucky WBB is 'very, very close' to being done in the transfer portal

Kenny Brooks has reeled in three players from the transfer portal this offseason in Josie Gilvin, Asia Boone and Tonie Morgan. With 11 players on the roster for next year, Brooks feels as if he’s just about done all of the work he needs to do in the portal.
For him, adding a big to complement Clara Strack down low is the only real need the team has at the moment.
“We’re very, very close [to being done with the roster],” Brooks told KSR in his interview on The Memorial Memo. “We went into the portal and pretty much got what we wanted. We wanted the right players, and I felt like we got that. We can probably look for additional depth in the post. As we know, my post players have a tendency to get in foul trouble, but we have so much depth that we can play big, we can play small ball. Just to add a little bit of insurance, that’s what we’ll be looking at.”
Part of the reason why Brooks feels the way he does is because he was able to keep his core from a year ago, outside of Georgia Amoore and Dazia Lawrence, who exhausted their eligibility.

“The portal [closed yesterday], and what’s in there is in there, but we’re going to be very, very selective because we feel like we have the right group of people, players,” Brooks explained. “Our culture is phenomenal. They are what they are, and what you see is what you get. We have the ability to have one of the best cultures we’ve ever had just because they all get along. They’re willing to share in each other’s successes. They’re willing to sacrifice a little bit for each other, they just want to win.”
“So, we just want to make sure we bring in somebody that’s going to be a great addition to that and not somebody that comes in with their own agenda to try to do something that will tear it down,” he added. “We’re very, very selective.”
