Kenny Brooks says that Teonni Key 'looked a little bit out of it' in return to North Carolina

Heading into the North Carolina game, Teonni Key had arguably been Kentucky’s most consistent player outside of Clara Strack. Unfortunately, however, that wasn’t the case on Thursday night when she faced her former team.
In just 26 minutes, Key recorded just seven total points, only attempting five shots from the field all game. She wasn’t her usual self for whatever reason. Kenny Brooks seemed to think that playing against her old team may have shaken her up mentally a tad bit.

“It’s a hard game for some of the kids, especially like Teonni coming back,” Brooks explained to UK Sports Network’s Darren Headrick postgame. “You asked me before, we were talking how she would react to coming back home — you never know. I didn’t see any signs that she was gonna be a little bit out of it, but the way she played, she looked a little bit out of it. The emotions — you can’t tell what’s gonna happen. The kids put a lot into what they’re doing at a certain place and they leave it, they come back and they’re gonna have those emotions still.”
Hopefully, Key can get back on track when the Cats take on Queens come Monday night.
