As everybody knows, or at least as the media likes to portray, Kentucky is the mack daddy of one and done schools. And OK, we've had six of them in the last 2 years, with a couple more on the way after this season. But, is there any way to know which guys are more likely to go after this season? Below, I have divided up EVERY 1-and-done player since the high school class of 1999. That is 12 years worth of data. I split them up by college, home state, position, and recruiting ranking.

Is there a position that is easier to enter the pros after 1 year? Turns out, more than there being one position over another, the actual revelation is that the center position is BY FAR the hardest spot to enter the league. Which is interesting, because usually the NBA is more willing to take risks on big men who are projects.
By Position
28- Forward
(Kanter, Harris, Thompson, Favors, Whiteside, Beasley, Walker, Randolph, Hickson, Love, Young, Wright, Durant, Thomas, M.Williams, Deng, Ariza, Anthony, Bosh, Griffin, White, Randolph, Wallace, A.Ford, D.Johnson, Harvey, Humphries, S.Williams)

And lastly, and maybe most strikingly, does overall ranking coming out of high school give an early indicator to leaving after 1 season? The answer is a resounding YES. Since the high school class of 1999, there are 120 players ranked in the Top 10 nationally coming out of high school according to scout.com. A total of 24 jumped straight into the NBA and another 36 left after 1 season. That is 60 out of 120 total players. Or 50% for the mathematically challenged. Essentially, you have a 50-50 shot of keeping a Top 10 player for more than 1 year. Kentucky has 3 guys that fall in that category this season.
By Recruiting Ranking (Scout.com Overall Ranking, Statsheet.com ranking before 2002)
Ranked 1-10 (36 players): Deng, Oden, Durant, Hawes, Wright, Young, Mayo, Beasley, Love, Gordon, Walker, Greene, Bayless, Evans, Derozan, Holliday, Mullens, Wall, Favors, Cousins, Bradley, Henry, Stephenson, Irving, Kanter, Thompson, Knight, Harris, Selby, Harvey, Griffin, Randolph, Wallace, Wagner, Anthony, Bosh
