Bud Dupree spent four seasons at Kentucky turning into a two-time All-SEC selection in 2013 and 2014 under head coach Mark Stoops. The Irwinton (Ga.) Wilkinson County product finished his collegiate career with 247 tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss, 25.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles. That college career ended when Dupree was selected No. 22 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 31-year-old is still in the National Football League a decade later. Over the weekend, Bud Dupree agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Chargers on a two-year deal.

Bud Dupree spent his first six seasons in the NFL with the Steelers. The Kentucky product had his best year as a pro in Pittsburgh in 2019 recording 68 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. That season helped him get a huge payday from the Tennessee Titans (5-year, $85 million) following the 2020 season. However, the AFC South franchise decided to pull the plug on that contract after two seasons. Last offseason, Dupree signed a one-year prove it deal with the Atlanta Falcons. In his only season in the NFC South, the edger rusher led the Falcons in sacks (6.5) and started 16 games for the first time since 2019.

Now Bud Dupree will be playing for his fourth NFL franchise in 10 years as the Jim Harbaugh era begins for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024. The Kentucky product will give the AFC West defense some high quality outside linebacker depth playing behind Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.
