Kentucky will be getting players coach in Bush Hamdan
Kentucky needs new offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan to deliver. Multiple SEC quarterbacks believe that could happen.
Taylen Green will be Bobby Petrino‘s starting quarterback at Arkansas this season. Before the new quarterback in Fayetteville attempts to help get head coach Sam Pittman off the hot seat, Green helped Boise State win a Mountain West title despite a mid-season firing of head coach Andy Avalos. Bush Hamdan served as Green’s play-caller and position coach.
Similar to Brady Cook, Green enjoyed his time spent with Hamdan.
“A player’s coach. You can talk to him about anything. He jokes around all the time but on the field, he’s always prepared,” Green told reporters at SEC Media Days on Thursday in Dallas. “He’s always dialed in.”
“The players are going to gravitate towards him.”
In his only season with Hamdan, Green passed for 1,752 yards on 8.3 yards per attempt to go along with 432 non-sack rushing yards on 5.3 yards per rush with 20 total touchdowns. Boise State had a quarterback controversy with Green and Maddux Madsen splitting snaps but that did not stop Hamdan’s unit from finishing No. 15 nationally in yards per play (6.55) and No. 17 nationally in points per drive (2.82). Hamdan received buy-in despite some in-season adversity that hit Boise State.

Kentucky’s new offensive coordinator will have his players prepared, but Brady Cook and Taylen Green have both told us that Bush Hamdan will also get buy-in no matter what happens throughout the season.
