Spring practice is off and running at the University of Kentucky. On day two, the Wildcats got outside for the first time thanks to the nice March weather in the Bluegrass State. After the workout, offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan spoke to the media for the first time since Kentucky’s loss to Louisville to end the 2024 season.

The second-year play-caller is dealing with a lot of new pieces on offense after the Cats hit the transfer portal hard in December and January.

“There’s a lot of pieces there. First is obviously replacing the guys who have graduated or left. So there was obviously some urgency and intensity in doing so. I think schematically, obviously, you look at each situation — what was good, what actually got repped. But think the bigger focus is just the emphasis.”

The Cats are working on the fundamentals and simply getting on the same page in install with all these new faces on the roster. Bush Hamdan also opened up about what he wants to see from Jamarion Wilcox, what attracted the program to Zach Calzada in the transfer portal, and what he’s seen from the offensive line during the spring semester.

KSR also spoke to Cutter Boley, Ja’Mori Maclin, and Clemson wide receiver transfer Troy Stellato as spring ball gets started this week before a pause for spring break.
