I can’t give any advice on how to manage your financial portfolio after the stock market dipped last week. The only thing I learned from the college economics class that I frequently skipped is that you buy low and sell high. That’s why now is the perfect time to buy Steven Soles stock.

Soles was an undersized, albeit productive prospect, logging 7.0 sacks and 38 quarterback hurries during his senior season at Powell High School in Tennessee. He was a part of a 2024 Kentucky high school football recruiting class that loaded up on front-seven talent. There were plenty of players who could have contributed as true freshmen. Soles was the least likely candidate and he did just that.

Dubbed “Sack Em” Soles, he quickly lived up to his nickname, recording a sack in the first SEC game of the season. His elusiveness and explosiveness earned him a role as a third down, pass-rushing specialist. Soles tallied 13 pressures and 11 hurries in only 36 pass-rush reps. This spring, his goal is to be much more than a specialist.

“I’m learning the system to understand our fits on run-downs on where we should be, what the line is doing. It’s all about us coming together, being as one. I’m learning first and second down plays a lot better and putting weight on to be able to play on first and second down,” he said earlier this week.

Soles Does Not Lack Confidence

Kentucky needs somebody to bend the edge. They haven’t had that sense Josh Allen was in a Kentucky uniform. Soles can do that. It’s just one reason why he’s a fun football player to cheer for. He oozes confidence, yet it’s not in an obnoxious way.

A reporter asked Soles what it’s like to go against the 6-foot-8 left tackle Shiyazh Pete. “It’s kinda fun not knowing that I’m just going to beat his behind, knowing that I have a challenge ahead of me. It’s pretty fun.”

That’s good, clean fun. Most players who talk like that might be seen as immature, when in fact, it’s the opposite. He carries himself like a wisened 22-year-old. That confidence in himself is why he’s so good. He knows he has the get-off to blow past blockers.

“Some people mess up because I see them thinking about their pass rush too much, or thinking about what they’re going to do,” Soles said. “I tell people all the time, trust yourself. You’re at this school playing football with us, you’re not here for no reason. Stick to what you know, stay true to yourself, and do what you know you can do.”

He can bend the edge, but my personal favorite move is when Soles uses his speed to get a tackle on his heels, then cuts inside. It’s a risky move, but he knows when he has a blocker on his heels.

“You’ll probably be three or four yards up field and he’s way behind you, just overly kicked and the inside is wide open. You get a feel for it,” he said. “You’ll mess up if you’re expecting him to be there, and if you’re planning on him to be there and he’s not, you’ll mess up the rep.”

Sack ‘Em Soles has only scratched the surface of his potential. While it make take time to develop the size to become an every-down player, he adds electricity to the pass rush every time he steps on the field. Buy Steven Soles stock now to be on the ground floor before his career takes flight.
