We’ll have to wait just little longer before knowing Caleb Wilson‘s college plans.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Wilson intends to make his commitment decision in January “for sure”. The five-star power forward is officially down to a top-five consisting of Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Central Florida, although the Wildcats and Tarheels are believed to be the two frontrunners heading down the home stretch.

Wilson, a 6-foot-9, 195-pound product of Holy Innocents (GA) Episcopal School, is rated as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2025 per the On3 Industry Ranking.

There’s been chatter online this week that Wilson has already decided behind closed doors, but nothing has been made public just yet. Wilson’s plan as recent as the beginning of this month was to commit in “mid-December or early January”, so he could be just a couple of weeks away from announcing his choice.

Kentucky appears to be in great shape, too. Across On3, 247Sports, and Rivals, there are currently four picks logged in favor of Wilson picking the ‘Cats.

“They run and gun, shoot a lot of threes, and run the court,” Wilson recently told On3’s Jamie Shaw about Kentucky. “They have a lot of older players so they play with a lot of experience. Coach (Mark) Pope is an energetic coach and he has a high basketball IQ.

“His message, he just tells me that I fit his system perfectly. I think I do too. He allows his fours to push the floor and make decisions. I feel like that is something I’m really good at, pushing and passing.”

Pope has already brought in a trio of talented 2025 high school recruits for his debut class. Five-star SG Jasper Johnson (No. 14 overall) is the headliner followed by four-star C Malachi Moreno (No. 31) and four-star PG Acaden Lewis (No. 33). Is Wilson next to join the program for 2025-26?
