The picture of John Calipari and Rick Pitino posing with a fan at Drake's has gone viral. On Tuesday morning, the father of the young woman in the picture called in to the radio show to give some more details about it, explaining that the two were eating in adjoining restaurants and obliged his daughter's request for a picture.
USA Today picked up on the scent and interviewed BHG co-owner Brian McCarty about what went down. McCarty said that Pitino and Cal were "both were kind and classy enough to grant a mutual fan’s request for a picture,” and the group's marketing director Stephanie Bork said that
Calipari ordered a bone-in filet and calamari, while Pitino had a calamari salad, a cup of broccoli cheddar soup, and the Lexingtonian Salad.
Three things:
1) Does Cal eat things other than meat? Erin Calipari told us how much of a carnivore her father is, but man...not even a side salad, Cal?
2) I can't help but giggle at Calipari eating calamari. I'm sure he's very tired of that joke.
3) Only in Kentucky would this be a viral news story. I love it.
