Campbellsville High hires former Kentucky great Anthony Epps as HC
Former Kentucky great Anthony Epps is taking his coaching talents to the 5th Region — the 20th District, to be specific.
Campbellsville High School has announced Epps as the program’s next head boys’ basketball coach, a move that comes for him after serving as an assistant for the Northern Kentucky women’s basketball program since 2020.
“We are excited to announce the return of Coach Anthony Epps to our Eagle Family today!” Campbellsville Independent Schools said this week. “Coach Epps will be the new head coach of the Boys Basketball team at CHS. We are excited to see Coach Epps on the sideline again in the Purple and Gold!”
Epps spent three seasons with the Norse after joining the program in July 2020. He’s got over a dozen years of coaching experience, namely at Campbellsville, leading the school to the 5th Region Boys All-A Tournament Championship. The former Wildcat was previously the girls’ coach at Campbellsville for three years, named 5th Region Co-Coach of the Year in 2017.

As a member of the Kentucky basketball team, Epps was on the 1997 national title team and led the Wildcats to the Final Four in 1997 as a team captain. The program went 124-19 in his four seasons in Lexington while he individually ranks in the top 10 of four different statistical categories, including second all-time in assists (544).
In high school, Epps helped lead Marion County High School to a 1993 KHSAA State Championship. Now, he hopes to lead the Eagles to a state title of their own.
