A big basketball game at Rupp Arena on Saturday night has everyone’s attention as John Calipari makes his return to town. Downtown Lexington will surely be buzzing as the calendar turns to February. But the men’s basketball program is not the only team with a big weekend planned.
The Kentucky football program will be hosting a big junior day with multiple 2026 targets on campus for unofficial visits. One of UK’s top offensive skill position targets will be in Lexington. Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes junior Carsyn Baker will be making the trip north this weekend.
Carsyn Baker (6-0, 195) is the No. 208 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. The blue-chip prospect rushed for 1,282 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2024. Running backs coach Jay Boulware appears to be leading this recruitment for the Wildcats.
Ohio State visited Baker this month and is expected to receive an official visit. Clemson, Louisville, Penn State, Alabama, Colorado, Texas A&M, Georgia, and South Carolina all visited the tailback in January. The four-star prospect has made unofficial visits in recent weeks to Georgia and South Carolina. Now Kentucky will get the next visit.

This is setting up to become a highly competitive recruitment in the SEC footprint. Kentucky has settled in and is firmly in the hunt. Now the Wildcats will look to strengthen this relationship with a good unofficial visit this weekend before working on getting an official visit date locked in this summer.
