Cason Wallace, Chris Livingston among top performers at Jordan Brand Classic
The Big Blue Nation got a small preview of what’s to come in Lexington next season.
On Friday night in Chicago, Kentucky Men’s Basketball’s two incoming freshmen, Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston, suited up together for Team Flight at the 2022 Jordan Brand Classic. While their team came up short in the end, falling to Team Air 118-109 in an Elam Ending finish, the pair of future Wildcats stole the show throughout the night. Livingston led the way with 21 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3PT, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds, three steals and five turnovers, while Wallace added 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Texas commit Dillon Mitchell and Arkansas commit Nick Smith Jr. were named co-MVPs.
Wallace, who is considered a five-star recruit and the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2022 by the On3 Consensus, flexed his two-way versatility and nearly took home MVP honors himself. The 6-foot-3 combo guard canned four floaters and played his usual lockdown defense. His two-handed block (which was incorrectly whistled a foul) and double-pump dunk in transition left the fans and broadcasters in awe.
As for Livingston, who is the No. 10 overall class of 2022 prospect and also a five-star recruit, played an incredibly well-rounded game against the top competition. The 6-foot-7 wing showcased his ability to play multiple positions by bringing the ball up the court, knocking down shots, and using his frame to get to the free-throw line. He was able to make an impact on the glass, as well.

Livingston also stepped aside during one of his breaks to talk with the broadcast crew about his experience at the Jordan Brand Classic and what Kentucky fans can expect when he takes the floor at Rupp Arena. Give it a listen.
This wasn’t the first time that these two performed at a high level alongside the country’s top high school seniors. Wallace and Livingston previously shined at the 2022 McDonald’s All-American Game at the end of March. They’ll team up again for one more All-Star event, the Iverson Classic at the end of April, before making Kentucky their new home this summer.
