Cason Wallace left the second half of Kentucky-Vanderbilt with an ankle injury
Already without Sahvir Wheeler for a sixth straight game, Kentucky Basketball will likely have to finish the job against Vanderbilt without point guard Cason Wallace, who exited Wednesday night’s contest with 18:14 remaining on the clock. The Cats’ star freshman appeared to roll his right ankle early in the second half and immediately went to the ground in pain as play continued on the opposite end of the court. Once the action was stopped, Wallace was helped to Kentucky’s bench where he sat for a couple of minutes before walking back to Kentucky’s locker room for further attention and treatment.
It’s worth noting for concerned fans: Wallace walked from the bench to the back of Rupp Arena without any assistance from Geoff Staton, the team’s head trainer. Prior to the presumed ankle injury, Wallace played 20 minutes with six points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field, a pair of rebounds, and an assist.

CJ Fredrick and Adou Thiero will pick up the slack in the backcourt while Wallace is out. Vanderbilt led by four, 36-32, when he went down minutes in the second half.
We now await official word from a UK spokesperson regarding Wallace’s status for the remainder of the game. The SEC Network broadcast said he is being evaluated for a lower leg injury, but nothing more.
UPDATE
Wallace is officially out for the rest of the night.
