Cats Still Need To Beat Baylor, But Cards Already Ready For Rematch

by:Thomas Beisner03/24/12

Kentucky still has to defeat Baylor tomorrow before The Game can happen in the Final Four, but Louisville was doing a lot of talking about Kentucky today. Guard Chris Smith wasn't shy about a potential rematch. In fact, he was excited. Here's what he had to say (video below): "We want to play Kentucky...we want them to win really bad because I feel like we owe them something." "We got Gorgui Dieng playing just as good as Anthony Davis and everyone else is going to fill in what we need." Head coach Rick Pitino, while far more complimentary of the Cats and what they've accomplished, also had a couple of interesting soundbites... "We had a good regular season and I don't think that the majority of our fans really appreciated a terrific season because they looked down the road and they (UK) only lost one game. And I keep trying to tell our fans we aren't Kentucky. We have no desire to be Kentucky." "When I look at Kentucky and their coaching staff, I marvel at excellence....but I don't get into these petty Kentucky-Louisville things." "There will be people at Kentucky having nervous breakdowns if they lose to us. They will. They gotta put the fences up on bridges."
