CBB Power Ranking Rundown: Kentucky still unranked in most Top 25s
Because college basketball writers love to work on Sundays, several of your favorite college basketball publications already have new power rankings and polls to reflect the weekend’s results. Unfortunately, most still omitted the Wildcats from their weekly top 25s. Of the power rankings we scoured, only Andy Katz and ESPN’s BPI like the Cats. So they’re cool.
Everyone else still isn’t sold on Kentucky. So they’re not cool.
Andy Katz’s Power 36: No. 24
Over at NCAA.com, the new version of Andy Katz’s Power 36 college basketball rankings lists Kentucky at No. 24 nationally.
“The Wildcats have figured out how to play together and close, beating Tennessee and Texas A&M in two of their last three games,” writes Katz.

CBS Sports’ Top 25 and 1: Unranked
Kentucky did not land one of the 26 spots in Gary Parrish’s weekly ranking for CBSSports.com, but the Wildcats were given a B- on CBS’s report card.
“If this was a beauty contest, then Kentucky might be walking home with failing grades — it trailed in the second half of both games vs. Texas A&M and vs. Georgia — but the ‘Cats eventually went on to win both,” the report card reads. “They don’t seem to have totally clicked, but they’re finding ways to win. By Kentucky standards, that’s not good enough, but by Kentucky standards *this season*, that’s a success story.”
