Chad Johnson interested in UK job? Former Bengals great teases interest online
Kentucky needs a new wide receivers coach. You can apply here if you are qualified and interested. Respectfully, you probably aren’t, but the job is vacant and posted online, per school policy. Good luck. You’ll need it because at least one former NFL wide receiver is kicking the idea around, too.
On Thursday, former Cincinnati Bengals great Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson replied to a tweet suggesting he should be Mark Stoops’ new wide receiver coach in Lexington. Not a no, Johnson replied to the Kentucky fan with a path to his ultimate post-playing career goal in football.
Johnson asked, “You think I can start at UK & work my way up the ladder in hopes of being a coach for the Bengals or even intern?”
You have to start somewhere, right?!
Though the tweet was likely very unserious, Johnson wouldn’t be the first outgoing, former pro receiver out of Miami to coach Kentucky’s wide receivers. Stoops hired Lamar Thomas, a wide receiver who played at both The U and for the Miami Dolphins, to coach the receivers in Lexington from 2016-18. Thomas came with some confidence and swagger.

Thomas was proficient in Twitter, too.
Johnson, a Miami native and a future Hall of Fame wide receiver, also has confidence, swagger, and a very active Twitter account.
Plus, his daughter runs cross-country for the Wildcats. Cha’iel Johnson is a freshman in Lexington.
Bring Ochocinco to Lexington????
