Ask and you do NOT receive. The checkerboard basketball uniforms are back, whether you like it or not.
Despite fans griping over the last few seasons and former players saying they hate wearing them,
Kentucky has apparently decided to bring them back for yet another season.
On the official Kentucky men's basketball Instagram account, PJ Washington is posing for pictures wearing the same uniforms we've seen the last two years.
They're apparently the same uniforms, but you can't tell me the checkerboard stripe doesn't look wider more prominent in the picture above...
Tennessee ditched the checkerboard pattern on their football uniforms last weekend, opting for a single stripe going forward instead. Fans appreciated the history of the pattern, but liked the change.

Unfortunately for Kentucky fans and players, it looks like we'll have to go another year with the same look.
