Former Kentucky CB Chris Westry inks deal with Cleveland Browns
Former Kentucky cornerback Chris Westry is returning to the AFC North. The undrafted free agent in 2019 keeps hanging around in the National Football League.
Westry is now headed to Cleveland to play for head coach Kevin Stefanski and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

The class of 2015 signee out of Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf signed a deal with the Browns on the same day that the franchise officially completed a trade for former Kentucky defensive end Za’Darius Smith. Westry spent two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2019-20) with most of his time served on the practice squad. In 2021, the cornerback played in six games with the Baltimore Ravens earning two starting assignments. Westry signed with the Carolina Panthers for 2022, but did not make the team out of training camp.
Chris Westry (6-4, 200) is now getting another chance to make an NFL roster. In four years at Kentucky, the lengthy cornerback played nearly 2,000 career snaps for the Wildcats from 2015-18. Westry earned 34 career starts and never missed a game during his collegiate career. The three-star recruit finished his playing career in Lexington with 134 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 15 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions.
