The famous cigar guy from the Ryder Cup has been revealed and
his true identity is very disappointing. The man is Rupesh Shingadia, a 30 year old investment analyst who still lives with his parents. Shingadia said his costume was a tribute to Spanish golfer Miguel Angel Jimenez and he is somewhat embarrassed by his global celebrity status.
I'm heartbroken that the look was a sham. Rupesh, you will always be Cigar Guy to me and the millions of people over the world who were amazed by your overall awesomeness.
