CJ Fredrick, Sahvir Wheeler out vs. Georgia
Kentucky will be shorthanded today in Athens. During his pregame radio segment with Tom Leach, John Calipari said that CJ Fredrick (rib) and Sahvir Wheeler (ankle) will both be out vs. Georgia.
Last night, Jack Pilgrim reported that Fredrick cracked a rib colliding with a cameraman during the Florida game last Saturday. He played through the injury vs. Arkansas. Wheeler missed the Arkansas game after tweaking his ankle in practice on Monday.

Antonio Reeves will step into Fredrick’s spot in the starting lineup alongside Cason Wallace, Chris Livingston, Jacob Toppin, and Oscar Tshiebwe. With no Wheeler or Fredrick, Calipari said freshman reserve Adou Thiero should get some playing time. He didn’t even rule out Jacob Toppin bringing the ball up the court if need be.
“You’re down two guards and two assist-to-turnover guys that are pretty good. Means Adou has got to step in and play. You know, Adou, you’re gonna have your chance and again, everybody wants to play. Okay, now here it comes. You’re going to have to figure out, if we get in foul trouble, where we go. Maybe have Jacob bring it up the court, you know, and then get in the offense that way.”
Next man up.
