How about a Fourth of July #YAHTZEE for the Big Blue Nation?

On Tuesday afternoon, class of 2024 athlete Quaysheed “Q” Scott announced his commitment to the Kentucky Wildcats live on his Instagram. The 6-foot, 185-pound product out of Marion (SC) High is the 13th pledge for UK’s 2024 class and the third already this month. Scott chose the ‘Cats over a list of finalists that also included Old Dominion, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, and Miami (OH).

Scott, who is being recruited to Kentucky as a defensive back, is considered a three-star recruit and top 100 ATH in the country according to On3’s rankings.

For those unfamiliar with Scott, he first popped up on Kentucky’s radar following a solid camp showing back in June. He stood out in front of coaches with an impressive 4.4-second 40-yard dash on the laser after he was clocked at an even more impressive time of 4.3 seconds during a previous camp at South Carolina.

Scott, who doubles as a track and field star, was one of that camp’s top performers, resulting in him earning an offer from Wildcats’ defensive backs coach Chris Collins. While UK was his only Power 5 offer, he also held scholarships from the likes of Marshall, Tulane, and Troy, among several others.

“I like the environment. (Kentucky) showed me around campus after the visit,” Scott told KSR shortly after receiving his offer. “They showed a lot of love, took pictures. I love the environment a lot there.”
