Class of '22 CG Adou Thiero will visit Kentucky on April 27-28

One of the fastest-rising recruits in the country will make a trip to Lexington at the end of the month.
First reported by Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and later confirmed by KSR, class of 2022 combo guard Adou Thiero is scheduled to visit Kentucky on April 27-28. The 6-foot-5 Pennsylvania prospect received an offer from Wildcats head coach John Calipari in March following an in-person visit. Thiero has since picked up scholarship opportunities from the likes of Maryland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Xavier.
White reports that Thiero will take official visits to Pittsburgh and Maryland on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. He will also visit Xavier, although no date has been confirmed.
Calipari went to watch Thiero play in the Pennsylvania Class 4A title game a few weeks ago, where the standout guard finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks for Quaker Valley High School. He finished his senior season averaging 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 3.9 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game, ending his career with 1,624 total points. As a shooter, he knocked down 52 percent of his shots, 29 percent of his 3-pointers, and 77 percent of his free throws this season.

The unranked guard has grown 10 inches since the start of high school, jumping from 5-foot-7 to 6-foot-5 between his freshman and senior seasons. Thiero is the son of Almamy Thiero, who played for John Calipari at Memphis from 2002-05.
Thiero was born in 2004 during his father’s time at Memphis. His family’s strong connection with Calipari made Kentucky a dream school from the start for the up-and-coming guard.
“I was definitely very excited (when Calipari reached out),” Thiero told the Pittsburgh Sports Now last month. “Kentucky was my dream school when I was a kid. I went to a Kentucky camp my freshman year and I just like the program and Coach Cal is a very good coach.”
