Last night, as the calendar flipped to say June 15th, the floodgates opened in one area of the recruiting world. This marked the start of the contact period for some high-caliber high school ballers.
With contact officially allowed today for the Class of 2015, some important recruits are hearing from UK. The calls started coming in for kids right after midnight (cue the Clapton music).
The two biggest targets who have been contacted by Kentucky coaches are 2015 standouts Charles Matthews and Stephen Zimmerman. Matthews is a 6-5 guard from Chicago. Zimmerman is a 7-footer from Shabazz Muhammad's old school in Vegas, Bishop Gorman. Both players have scouts buzzing big time. Neither has an offer from UK yet, but I'd expect that to change very soon.
Keep an eye out as these two compete at the NBPA Top 100 camp this weekend.
