Kyra Elzy has her first commit as the head coach at Kentucky.

Class of 2022 four-star post player Tionna Herron announced on social media that she has committed to the Kentucky Wildcats Women’s Basketball Team. Standing at 6-foot-4, Herron, who plays high school basketball down in DeSoto, TX is the second player out of the 2022 class to commit to the ‘Cats, joining Kentucky native Cassidy Rowe.

According to ESPN, Herron is a four-star recruit, ranked No. 57 overall in her class, and is the eighth-best post player. Here’s what Dan Olson of ESPN said about her back in June:

Yellow Rose of Texas-June 2020: Athletic front-court prospect impacts in the low-post; footwork, rises over the defense and delivers plays in traffic; a defensive stopper, shot blocker; mobile in transition game; a stock-riser in the class of 2022. (Olson)”

Herron initially received a scholarship offer from UK back in September. She is the first player to sign for Coach Elzy, who was promoted from interim to head coach last week, and she surely won’t be the last. Kentucky has offered as many as 24 other high school recruits out of the class of 2022, according to WBBblog.com.

Welcome to the movement.
