The Mark Pope era of Kentucky basketball is tipping off with a financial leg up on the competition, thanks to the passion and generosity of the Big Blue Nation.

Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones reports Club Blue NIL has surpassed over $1 million in annual pledged donations. That money was not raised by courting large donors but with a grassroots campaign that reached out to individuals across Big Blue Nation. It’s a tremendous achievement in the NIL landscape and a testament to the belief in the new Kentucky basketball regime.

These annual pledges from the fans that fill the stands, combined with contributions from large donors, will ensure that Mark Pope has the resources capable of building one of the best rosters in college basketball.

There’s still some work to be done to complete the Kentucky basketball roster and the same can be said for Club Blue. Their initial incentive campaign is still open for business until midnight on Wednesday.

Kentuck fans have until midnight tonight to subscribe to Club Blue to receive an invitation to the New Era Basketball Event. Taking place this June, it will be the first chance for fans to meet the new players and coaches.

“It’ll be our first opportunity to spend time with the team. We’re making a push right now for as many people in the nation that can join Club Blue, you will make a very tangible and direct impact on this program,” Pope said last month on Kentucky Sports Radio.

He added, “Be a part of this. This is our team and that’s what makes this special. I hope everybody jumps on, let’s do this together.”
