Expecting Kentucky to take a tough loss on the chin with Bruce Pearl leaving Lexington with his first win as the head coach at Auburn? Not so fast, says the College GameDay crew. Led by Andraya Carter, Jay Williams and Seth Greenberg, two of the three panelists picked the Wildcats to upset the Tigers inside Rupp Arena on Saturday.

Carter was the lone analyst picking Auburn to win as the outright favorite.

“I know this crowd was just booing Johni Broome, but he is too much to handle,” she said. “Kentucky is missing pieces, Auburn has depth. I’m going with Auburn on the road — even though they haven’t won there in quite some time.”

As for Williams and Greenberg, it’s Kentucky all the way against the No. 1 team in college basketball.

“They haven’t won in Rupp Arena since 1988. Are you kidding me? That is insane,” Williams said. “I know Auburn has a lot of utility pieces they can switch, but actually not having Robinson play in this game is better for Kentucky. I’m gonna take Kentucky at home.”

“You know, J-Will? I actually agree with you,” Greenberg added. “Jaxson Robinson is a thing, but they’ve got Koby Brea and they’ve got (Ansley) Almonor. You know what else they have? Those two dogs, (Lamont) Butler and (Otega) Oweh. Oweh scored 18 consecutive points (at Oklahoma). Watch the chippiness of this game between Oweh and Chad Baker-Mazara. That will be a game within the game.”

We’ll find out who is correct in a couple of hours. We’re team Williams and Greenberg — today, at least.
