College GameDay Predicts Kentucky vs. Tennessee
Kentucky vs. Tennessee is taking the primetime slot at 7 pm EST on ESPN for the second straight year. The Wildcats got taken to the woodshed at Neyland Stadium. How will they respond off the bye week in 2023? The experts on the College GameDay and SEC Nation sets weigh in.
“This is a fork in the road type of game,” said Kirk Herbstreit. “Neither team really throws the ball very well. Kentucky (is) really struggling in that area but with back to back losses, perfect time to think that Kentucky can bounce back playing at home at night.”
Herbstreit isn’t wrong. Devin Leary and Joe Milton rank near the bottom of the SEC in passer rating and are averaging around seven yards per attempt. However, Herbie is the only College GameDay regular that believes the Big Blue will turn things around in this border rivalry.

“I know you love Stoopsy and the way they run that ball,” said Pat McAfee. “Joe Milton’s coming off his best game, 271 yards, two touchdowns. They got outscored 27-zip in the second half against Bama. I think Tennessee comes out with their best football, gets a massive win over Kentucky.”
Desmond Howard is also calling for a Rocky Top romp in Lexington.
“I don’t think Kentucky’s offense is going to sustain enough drives, so I got Tennessee,” said the Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan.
