Collin Chandler is the first Big Blue Madness Dunk Contest winner of the Mark Pope era — and he used Pope as a prop to lock up the victory.

Matched up against Lamont Butler with one more dunk opportunity left in the contest, Chandler brought out Pope and his wife, Lee Anne, onto the Rupp Arena court (er, ASB GlassFloor) for his final attempt. The bouncy freshman from Utah directed the Popes to just inside the paint where Mark stood right behind Lee Anne. With Travis Perry serving as the lob passer underneath the basket, he tossed a perfect ball to Chandler right above the Pope family’s head.

Chandler, who was rocking a Mark Pope No. 41 Kentucky jersey, jumped off the floor (while using Pope as a springboard), grabbed Perry’s pass, and threw down a two-handed dunk to the eruption of a jam-packed Rupp Arena. 10s were given across the board from the children-aged judges and Chandler celebrated by breaking the trophy.

Kentucky got a good one in Collin Chandler.
