Collin Chandler got engaged on Kentucky's trip to New York City
Kentucky’s trip to New York City wasn’t a complete wash for some Wildcats. Freshman wing Collin Chandler proposed to his girlfriend in Central Park. After she said yes, Chandler’s family joined the happy couple, who posted these pictures on Instagram.
Chandler has played in ten games this season, averaging 2.0 points and 0.7 rebounds in 8.0 minutes per contest. He had a season-high six points in Kentucky’s 108-59 win over Jackson State on Nov. 22. The Farmington, Utah native played six minutes vs. Ohio State and although he didn’t score, got an impressive steal and dished an assist.
Chandler originally committed to play for Mark Pope at BYU in 2022 before embarking on a two-year Mormon mission to Sierra Leone and London. When Pope took the job at Kentucky in April 2024, Chandler decided to follow him to Lexington.
“Ever since I was 15 years old, I’ve known that I’ve wanted to play for Coach Pope,” Chandler said earlier this season. “I’m glad that I get to do it now. It’s fun every day and he pushes us to be better.”

Congrats to Chandler and his bride-to-be! As you might imagine, the social media post is flooded with well-wishes from Chandler’s teammates and coaches.
Koby Brea hosts Basketball Camp in NYC
Kentucky’s trip to New York was also a homecoming for Koby Brea. As such, the Washington Heights native stayed in the city after the loss to Ohio State. On Sunday, he hosted his second annual Fuego Koby Basketball Camp at his old high school, Monsignor Scanlan in the Bronx. It was free and looked like a ton of fun.
