In the Early Signing Period, Kentucky officially added six transfers to the roster and each of them will be enrolled in school when the spring semester begins on Monday in Lexington. However, the mid-year transfer work is not done yet.

Over the next few days, programs can still host transfers for visits in the hopes of getting players enrolled in school at some point over the next week or so for the spring semester. On Thursday night, a potential defensive prospect emerged for the Wildcats.

Arizona State linebacker transfer Connor Soelle (6-1, 220) has received a verbal scholarship offer from Kentucky.

The class of 2019 signee spent four years at Arizona State after starring for powerhouse Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro. In 2022 as a redshirt junior, Soelle recorded 30 tackles playing 188 defensive snaps. The former mid three-star recruit entered the transfer portal on Monday and Kentucky became the first program to issue an offer.

Currently, Kentucky only has five off-ball linebackers on scholarship led by D’Eryk Jackson and Trevin Wallace who are expected to be the full-time starters when the season opens on Labor Day weekend. Some depth is needed for position coach Mike Stoops. Soelle could emerge as an answer.

Look for new names to pop up over the next couple of weeks as programs look to finish off mid-year work in the transfer portal before the window closes on Jan. 18 and doesn’t open again until May.
