Could this season mark a DeMarcus Cousins trade?

by:CWag10/30/16
Over at ESPN.com, Marc Stein dives into his "10 Fearless Predictions" for the 2016-17 NBA Season. One of these revolves around the forever-rumored dealing of Demarcus Cousins out of Sacramento. It's all love for Boogie over here at KSR, but due to his on-the-court behavior, history of technicals, and verbal tiffs with head coaches, Cousins has been involved in trade discussions throughout his illustrious 7-year NBA career. In the article, Stein points to Cousins' expiring contract as the reason the Kings may finally trade their franchise player:
5. February will be dominated by DeMarcus Cousins speculation. Can’t promise you that the Kings will actually trade Cousins. If you insist on squeezing a firm prediction out of us on this one, as we speak on Oct. 28, I’d have to say he’ll stay. Sacramento is determined to make the playoffs this season, or at least a credible playoff run, which somewhat compels the Kings to keep their best player. But the reality is that Cousins has only one season left on his current contract after this one. If the Kings keep him beyond Feb. 23, they better be sure they can re-sign him, because they’re sure to fetch less in return for Expiring Contract Boogie.
Stein's argument makes sense. Unless Cousins is set on staying in Sacramento for his next big contract, they must deal Cousins before the trade deadline in February in order to get the best bang for their buck. Come February, we could be seeing this former Wildcat in a new uniform. On a lighter note, it seems that Boogie is making a concerted effort to have more fun on the court this season...Even after receiving a technical. https://vine.co/v/5pnZtO5WP9F   @colleenwag_KSR
