Creighton Transfer Arthur Kaluma Schedules Visit to Kentucky
The transfer portal has not been kind to the Kentucky basketball program this offseason. After a few misses, the Wildcats are not stepping away from the plate. John Calipari will be taking one more swing with Arthur Kaluma.
Travis Branham from 247 Sports reports Arthur Kaluma is expected to visit Kentucky next week. Many inside the business believed things between Kentucky and Kaluma cooled as Arkansas and Alabama cranked up the heat, but that no longer appears to be the case.
A 6-foot-8 forward, he was the highest-ranked recruit to ever sign with Creighton when the Top 50 prospect from Arizona joined the program in 2021. Over two seasons as a starter for the Bluejays, Kaluma averaged 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He shot just over 43% from the field and improved his three-point shooting percentage to 31.1% last season.
During his time in Omaha, Arthur Kaluma showed positional versatility. As a freshman he primarily played the three. When Baylor Scheierman transferred to Creighton last season, he slid down to the four-spot and helped the Bluejays reach the Elite Eight. It is the deepest a Creighton team has ever advanced into the NCAA Tournament, but they ultimately fell short in Louisville by losing to his brother’s team, San Diego State.

Analyst calls out Kentucky fans
Arthur Kaluma cannot consistently stretch the floor as a three-point shooter, but he could mitigate the loss of Chris Livingston and give the Wildcats a much-needed player to add to the rotation in the front-court.
In the last week the Wildcats have hosted three high school recruits — Somto Cyril, Joey Hart and Jordan Burks — leading many to believe John Calipari had waved the white flag on the transfer portal. That’s not the case. The addition of Arthur Kaluma could change the way Kentucky fans feel about their next basketball team after a tumultuous offseason.
