With the season almost here, it’s time for our weekly recruiting visitors update presented by our friend Andy Luedecke at MyPerfectFranchise. Andy is a huge college sports fan and franchise veteran, having owned multiple franchises and businesses. Using his expertise, he helps others find their American Dream through a very thorough consultation and evaluation process.

On the field, Kentucky’s 2022 season opener this Saturday could be the start of something magical. Dreams of another 10-win season and a possible SEC Championship berth can’t help but creep into the minds of the Big Blue Nation. A big victory against Miami (OH) would be a terrific step in obtaining those goals. It could also be an important victory when it comes to the future of the program.

When the No. 20 ranked Wildcats host the Miami (OH) RedHawks this weekend, they’ll do so with plenty of the coaching staff’s top recruits watching from the stands. A slew of in-state prospects is expected to make the trip to Lexington for visits along with one important player from Tennessee.

Let’s go through them together. We’ll update this list up until kickoff as we learn of more names planning to attend.

Undecided

Cutter Boley (’25): 6-5, 205-pound QB | Lexington Christian Academy (Lexington, KY)

  • He’s not ranked quite yet on the On3 Consensus, but On3’s own ratings are already high on local quarterback prospect Cutter Boley, who is considered an early four-star recruit. After transferring to LCA over the offseason, he’s been lighting it up through his first two games with the Eagles and continues to build buzz around the country. Mississippi State offered Boley just a couple of days ago and Michigan is hot on his trail. But Kentucky is absolutely in the mix, and Boley confirmed with KSR earlier this week he’ll be on campus for the Miami (OH) game.

JT Haskins (’24): 6-0, 160-pound ATH | Bryan Station (Lexington, KY)
3-star; No. 474 overall, No. 40 ATH

  • A potential rising star in the state, Bryan Station junior JT Haskins holds offers from the likes of Louisville, Akron, Eastern Kentucky, and a couple of others. Kentucky has yet to extend a scholarship, but Haskins did camp with the Wildcats over the summer and told KSR this week that he plans to visit for the Miami (OH) game so the two sides can build a relationship.

Hayes Johnson (’24): 6-3, 295-pound OT | Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY)
3-star; No. 435 overall, No. 23 OT

  • Arguably Kentucky’s top in-state target from the class of 2024 is offensive tackle Hayes Johnson, who received his offer from the Wildcats last June, his first from a Divison I program. He’s since hauled in scholarships from the likes of Baylor, Purdue, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Louisville while also taking a trip earlier this year to Alabama. Getting Johnson on campus early (which he confirmed with KSR will happen this weekend) and often is an important step for the ‘Cats, who will have plenty of competition for the Taylor County junior.

Other visitors

Committed

Anthony Brown (’23): 5-9, 160-pound WR | Springfield (Springfield, OH)
3-star; No. 433 overall, No. 62 WR

Tanner Lemaster (’23): 6-5, 240-pound TE | Washington (Washington Court House, OH)
3-star; No. 1003 overall, No. 54 TE

Undecided

Boo Carter (’24): 6-0, 180-pound S | Chattanooga Christian School (Chattanooga, TN)
4-star; No. 239 overall, No. 20 S

  • Four-star defensive back Boo Carter, who is close friends with Boley, told Rivals Woody Wommack earlier this week that he will be in Lexington this weekend for an unofficial visit. He’s listed as a safety but is actually being recruited by UK to play wide receiver. Already considered one of the top overall prospects from the state of Tennessee, Carter is being heavily recruited by the likes of Auburn, Ole Miss, Michigan State, West Virginia, Penn State, Ohio State, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and North Carolina, among others. Carter also knows current Kentucky freshman WR Barion Brown, who is from the same area in Tennessee.
