Cutter Boley is working on fundamentals early in Kentucky career
Cutter Boley should still be in high school right now at Lexington (Ky.) Christian Academy. Kentucky’s class of 2025 quarterback signee should sitting in an elective class preparing for spring break in Panama City Beach and his senior prom. Instead, Boley is enrolled in college early and is going through practice with a brand new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kentucky.
Things can change fast.
Kentucky brought Georgia transfer Brock Vandagriff in via the transfer portal to be QB1 in 2024. However, depth is needed at the position. That’s where Boley comes in. Bush Hamdan is working with the young quarterback for the first time. Early on, the former four-star prospect is focusing on getting used to his body and grinding on the fundamentals.
“I think so much for Cutter is just getting used to his body. He’s such a long, tall athlete that you gotta be in great football position. At the quarterback position, at the offensive line, defensive line, it always starts with that,” Hamdan told the media on Tuesday. “So for him, some of those coaching points just start with the feet.”
“The pass game with the quarterback starts with his feet. A lot of his development has been with that. Speeding up his feet, being in a good throwing posture, and then certainly the next level is the decision making piece.”

Before putting expectations on Boley, Kentucky wants to see the talented young passer make small daily progress. The blue-chip quarterback tallied 8,331 passing yards and 99 total touchdowns during his Kentucky high school career. There is room for growth in decision-making (24 total interceptions as a junior and senior), but the raw tools are undeniable.
Hamdan backed that up on Thursday.
“The expectations don’t really change. It’s how coachable can you be. How can we make mistakes but take the next step each and every practice? I think we all can see that guy has got a high ceiling and a lot of talent,” Hamdan said. “He’s in a lot of ways why you coach.”
Cutter Boley has an extremely high ceiling as a prospect. Kentucky is currently working on raising the floor for the talented young player.
