Cutter Boley put on his recruiting hat during official visit to Kentucky
This past weekend was massively important for the Kentucky football program. One commitment has already surfaced after three-star EDGE Antwan Smith pulled the trigger not long after his official visit to Lexington wrapped up. That gives head coach Mark Stoops four pledges now for the slow-developing 2024 recruiting class, which could be on the verge of adding multiple pieces in the coming weeks.
Other notable prospects that officially visited UK over the weekend include four-star OT Jonathan Daniels, four-star EDGE Brian Robinson, four-star TE Damarion Witten, and plenty more. All three of the Bluegrass-born commits — four-star QB Cutter Boley, three-star IOL Aba Selm, and three-star OT Hayes Johnson — were also in town. And while they still made sure to soak in all of the festivities that come with participating in an official visit, they also made sure to play the role of recruiter.
Boley, who headlines the 2024 class as a top 100 recruit in the country, was especially vital in making a strong pitch to his fellow visitors. He even believes that this past weekend was such a success for the program that more prospects will follow in Smith’s footsteps and announce their commitments to Kentucky in the near future.
“Great kid. Big-time get for us,” Boley told KSR on Monday of Antwan Smith. “Here in the next few weeks, there should be more. I know (Smith) was the only one to do it right after, but there are some other kids that are gonna finish out their other OVs, but I know of some other kids that are locked in.”
One of those looming commitments could be Covington Catholic three-star tight end Willie Rodriguez, who was also in Lexington over the weekend for an official visit and has been trending toward the Wildcats since receiving an offer in April. KSR has already logged a pair of predictions for Rodriguez to land at Kentucky. He officially visited Purdue and Virginia Tech over the last two weeks but currently has nothing scheduled for the rest of the month.
“Willie is on the right track, Willie is on the right track. I really liked Willie,” Boley added. “We definitely have a good chance with him. I’m gonna keep pushing him until he makes it official.”
By all accounts, Boley is fully embracing what it means to be a future star quarterback at Kentucky. Not only is he making recruiting pitches to potential Wildcats, but he’s also fully immersing himself in the program. The 6-foot-5 signal caller participated in one of Kentucky football’s June camps last week and was back again on Monday — not even 24 hours after finishing his official visit — to throw with campers and work alongside offensive coordinator Liam Coen.

“I’m just trying to work with Coach Coen and be as ready as I can be when I get here. The more work, the time I spend with him, the better off I’ll be when I get here,” Boley said. “After this weekend, it’s like we’re best friends now, you know what I mean? Building this connection, being this close, being able to come over all the time is gonna make the process and transition to here that much easier.”
Every second spent with his future coaches and teammates is a second well spent. Even though Boley has been on UK’s campus more times than he can count, it didn’t mean his official visit wasn’t important to him. He wants to be as involved as possible before arriving on campus for good in January.
“Just because I’m here in town, I didn’t want to miss anything. I stayed at the hotel and everything and hung with the guys. It was fun, we had a bunch of big-time guys in and some that I think we’re gonna wrap up here in the next two-to-three weeks for sure. But it was a big weekend.”
Boley says he’ll be back again on Tuesday to work alongside Coen for another camp. Kentucky appears to have the full attention and dedication of its most important recruit for the future.
