Daimion Collins injured his face in the most ridiculous manner possible

Daimion Collins celebrated his best game as a Wildcat by injuring his face in a manner so ridiculous, it’s hard to believe.
The freshman from Atalanta, Tx. made a surprising splash Saturday against Alabama. Relegated to the sideline for most of conference play, he immediately made an impact at Coleman Coliseum, scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds in only nine minutes of action.
“Everyone here in the whole program knows what Daimion can do,” TyTy Washington said after the 66-55 victory over Alabama. “We all know he’s 6-10 with a 45-inch vertical, just throw the ball up as high as you can and he’ll catch it. Leading up to this point we all knew what he could do, he’s been putting extra hours in the gym. Any time I go in there late nights I always see him in there.”

A few days later he showed off that 45-inch vertical, to his cheek’s demise.
Collins arrived at Colonial Life Arena Tuesday night with a bandage beneath his eye. Unlike Nelly circa 2001, he was not simply making a fashion statement. Jack Givens shared on the UK pregame show that Collins received the abrasion during practice. While goofing off with his teammates, Collins wanted to prove that he could touch the rim with his face. He conquered the challenge, yet it cut him so badly he almost needed stitches. Jacob Toppin was prepared to prove that he could do the same, but coaches intervened before he could share a similar fate with the freshman.
Approximately .01% of all humans can jump ten-feet high into the air. Collins may have looked like an alien when his face touched the rim, but the scrape proved he is human after all.
