Dallas Cowboys reportedly bringing in Terry Wilson for minicamp
Terry Touchdown will have a shot to prove he’s worth an NFL roster spot.
According to multiple reports, the Dallas Cowboys will bring in former Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson for rookie minicamp this weekend. Wilson spent three years with the Wildcats from 2018-20 before finishing out his college career at New Mexico this past season. The 6-foot-3 native of Oklahoma was not selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys will also bring in former San Jose State quarterback Nick Starkel for the minicamp, who had previous stints at Texas A&M and Arkansas.
Across his three seasons as a Wildcat, Wilson was the starting quarterback in 2018 and 2020, sitting out nearly all of the 2019 season due to a torn patellar tendon in his left knee. Kentucky wide receiver Lynn Bowden would famously fill in for Wilson during that stretch, but what Wilson did on the field during the two years he was a full-time starter was nothing short of spectacular.

As a sophomore in 2018, Wilson led Kentucky to a 10-3 record, the first double-digit winning season for the program since 1977. In the process, he became the first-ever UK player to register at least 1,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in the same season. When he returned from injury in 2020, he was named to the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Watch List. This was the COVID-19 affected season, which resulted in a 10-game SEC schedule for the ‘Cats. Kentucky finished 5-6 on the year and won its third consecutive bowl game with Wilson under center.
In his final college season with New Mexico, Wilson appeared in six games and threw for 1,058 yards on a 58 percent completion percentage, tacking on seven touchdowns and four interceptions. An elbow injury knocked him off the field for the second half of the season.
Best of luck to Terry!
