Dan Berezowitz suspended pending University of Kentucky investigation
Mark Stoops’ chief of staff has been sidelined. Kentucky’s head football coach revealed at SEC Media Days that Dan Berezowitz has been suspended since his mid-summer arrest.
“He’s out right now. He’s suspended. It’s a university investigation,” Stoops told local reporters prior to taking the stage in the Wynfrey Hotel’s grand ballroom. “You know how serious we take all of those allegations; our university is and we’re in the process of going through that investigation.”

Berezowitz was arrested late Sunday, June 27, and charged with fourth degree assault stemming from a physical altercation with his wife. One of Stoops’ original Kentucky staff members, he was promoted to chief of staff in 2018.
It was the second offseason arrest by a UK staff member this offseason. Wide receiver coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested in May and charged with a DUI. He served a suspension and returned to work with the Wildcats this summer.
