Dan Hurley to Kentucky? "0 percent chance," CBS Sports reports
Dreaming of Dan Hurley roaming the Kentucky sidelines? CBS Sports is reporting those chances are slim-to-none. In fact, they’re zero.
“There was little doubt as is, but this is final,” Matt Norlander reported Thursday. “Sources just told CBS Sports there is a “0 percent chance” Dan Hurley will leave UConn for Kentucky. It’s not happening. Hurley staying in Storrs, with a deserved big pay bump coming for him + his staff. UK’s search continues.”
With rumors of a potential eight-figure contract on the table to replace John Calipari in Lexington, Norlander added that no amount of money would make him leave.
“Said one source on Hurley to Kentucky: ‘They could offer $20 million a year and he wouldn’t go,'” Norlander said. “Hurley, the national coach of the year, has the perfect job for him, has the top staff in the country and is running the best program in the sport. Always seemed far-fetched as is.”
KSR’s Matt Jones added that Hurley officially turned down Kentucky’s offer and decided to return to UConn this afternoon.
“Hurley gave Kentucky their official No a bit ago,” he wrote. “He turned down a massive offer. UK now has the choice on whether to wait next week for after the Play-in game for Billy Donovan.”
The standout coach was asked on The Jim Rome Show today about the possibility of a lucrative offer from a place like Kentucky and how it’d impact his decision-making as he considers his future.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
It was as clear an answer as he’s given since the dust settled on UConn’s national championship last week.
“No. I think being who you say you are at your core — I know how much UConn and the state of Connecticut and the university, how much they value me and my staff and the program staying where they are,” Hurley said. “I know all those things are in place for us to press for the three-peat and show people who you are. …
“Once you make a certain amount of money, it doesn’t make that much of a difference in your life. I couldn’t be happier than I am here and knowing that the people that are — with the portal, we’re going to have to be strategic there. We’ve got some outstanding recruits coming in, we’re going to return some guys that are going to help us keep it where we are. I’m going to be here going for a three-peat.”
It didn’t take long for the official news to drop shortly after: Hurley is sticking with the Huskies.
