In 2018, Lynn Bowden had a 54-yard touchdown catch to help the Cats snap the 31-year losing streak to Florida. Four years later, another freshman wide receiver was similarly heroic. In the second quarter, Dane Key caught a 55-yard pass from Will Levis to give Kentucky a 7-3 lead. Key, who also scored in Kentucky’s season-opener vs. Miami (OH), finished with a team-high three catches for 83 yards. That brings his two-game total to seven catches for 136 yards and two TDs, incredible numbers.

Mark Stoops reflected on Key’s gutsy play during his postgame radio appearance.
