Daniel Roberts advances to 110-meter hurdles finals
Another Kentucky Track & Field alum is still in the running for a medal at the Olympics. Daniel Roberts finished in the top two of his heat in the 110-meter hurdles semifinals and will move on to Thursday’s finals.
Roberts, who attended Kentucky from 2017-19, had a time of 13.10, just one-hundredth of a second off Jamaica’s Orlando Bennett, who won the heat, and 0.12 seconds behind former Florida Gator Grant Holloway, Roberts’ friendly rival going back to their days running in the SEC.
Roberts is a three-time U.S. Champion in the 110-meter hurdles (2019, 2022, 2023) and finished third in the event at the Olympic Team Trials behind Holloway and Freddie Crittenden, who also advanced to the finals today. At Kentucky, Roberts was a two-time NCAA silver medalist (60m hurdles and 110m hurdles – 2019) and the 110-meter hurdles champion in 2019.
