Former Kentucky assistant Darin Hinshaw named Purdue quarterbacks coach
Darin Hinshaw spent five seasons on the Kentucky coaching staff serving as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator under offensive coordinator Eddie Gran. The 52-year-old has bounced around in college since Mark Stoops decided to move his offense in a different direction following the 2020 season.
Hinshaw has found a new job in the Big Ten. New Purdue head coach Barry Odom is bringing the former Kentucky assistant to West Lafayette to work with offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Josh Henson who spent the last three seasons as Lincoln Riley‘s offensive line coach at USC.

Darin Hinshaw served as an analyst at UCF under Gus Malzahn in 2021. The assistant then accepted a job as UAB’s offensive coordinator under head coach Bryant Vincent in 2002. Malzahn brought Hinshaw back to his alma mater to call plays in 2023, but Malzahn took back over play-calling in 2024. Now Hinshaw is making the move from the Big 12 to the Big Ten after Malzahn left UCF to become Mike Norvell‘s offensive coordinator at Florida State.
