David Wohlabaugh Jr. was a three-star recruiting win in Ohio for Kentucky in the 2021 recruiting class. After taking a redshirt, the offensive tackle opened the 2022 season as the starter at left tackle as a redshirt freshman before Kentucky ultimately decided to kick Kenneth Horsey outside. Wohlabaugh would ultimately leave the program after that season for Syracuse.

Now the veteran is on the move again. Wohlabaugh entered the spring transfer portal after spending two seasons with the Orange. The Greater Akron native is staying in the ACC.

David Wohlabaugh Jr. will join former Kentucky transfer addition Wallace Unamba at Virginia. The latter spent spring with the UK program before double-dipping in the portal. Wohlabaugh started the first two games for Syracuse in 2023 at right tackle before suffering a season-ending knee injury. The veteran returned in 2024 to play for a new coaching staff and appeared in nine games with three starts playing primarily left tackle. The tackle will be a redshirt senior at Virginia in 2025 with two years of eligibility remaining if he wants to apply for a medical redshirt.

Virginia could have two former Kentucky players starting on the offensive line this fall.
