Kentucky’s first big official visit weekend of the summer is in the books. The Wildcats were able to secure at least one recruiting win during that trip. Wide receivers coach L’Damian Washington is on the board in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

San Antonio (Texas) Cornerstone Christian School wideout Davis McCray committed to the Cats on Tuesday to give the program its second commit in the current high school class.

The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound wideout recently bumped up his planned official visit with Kentucky. Turns out there was a reason for that. Davis McCray has decided to join the program in Lexington before an official visit to Houston arrive next weekend. McCray recorded 32 receptions for 639 yards and 10 touchdowns last season while also contributing 38 tackles on defense. McCray also competed in long jump and 100m on the Cornerstone track team. The wideout was receiving some Ivy League interest.

Davis McCray is the No. 1,091 overall ranked prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. The wide receiver is ranked as the No. 100 overall player in Texas by On3. The prospect is still unranked by multiple services so this rating could very possibly take a jump in the future.

Washington has gotten multiple visitors scheduled for June and has gotten Kentucky into the Lonestar State. That led to a much-needed recruiting win for the program to begin June.
