Kentucky Transfer Portal Watch: Davon Townley Jr. receives offer
The live transfer portal window is less than a week old but things are happening at a rapid pace on the recruiting trail. This past weekend, schools could host prospects on official visits and that included both high school players and college transfers.
Kentucky is working quickly to both close in the class of 2023 and add players via the transfer portal. Multiple prospects are starting to emerge. This week we learned of another.
Penn State defensive end transfer Davon Townley Jr. has received an offer from Kentucky.
The former top-250 recruit out of Minneapolis (Minn.) North Senior was a class of 2021 signee that spent two seasons with James Franklin’s program in State College. After not seeing the field in 2021, Townley saw limited playing time (22 snaps) under new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.

Townley (6-6, 269) will be a redshirt sophomore in 2023 with three years of eligibility remaining. The prospect spoke with 247 Sports and confirmed that Colorado, Houston, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and USF have all reached out to the transfer since he entered the portal on Wednesday.
Townley was offered by Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White coming out of high school and is emerging as an option again down the road. The Cats appear to be taking another run at the line of scrimmage prospect that possesses great length.
